Specter Center Hosts Season’s First JCT

The Arlen Specter US Squash Center hosted hundreds of the country’s top juniors for the East Coast Junior Open–the first Junior Championship Tour (JCT) level event of the season–July 16-18, in Philadelphia.

The JCT followed a series of smaller skill level junior events as the facility continues to ramp up activity leading into its opening season.

“It’s incredible to think that this event took place 495 days after US Squash suspended all junior accredited competition,” said Kim Clearkin, US Squash Vice President of Programs and Events. “This weekend was important for a few reasons; it felt like a family reunion and it was so special to witness the junior squash community back together in person. Not only that, but it also represented a major milestone in our return to national competition. We are not completely out of the woods, but we are on our path.”
